YouTube Video.

Ok, so I've finished my video - I decided to present it in the form of a slideshow presentation using audio, images and quotes that reflect how I feel.
However, I'm finding it impossible to upload it to YouTube! I've followed every tutorial known to man, converting the file into a JPEG. and a PNG. file, and then tried using Windows Movie Maker, but that removes all the detail on the slide, including audio.
HELP, SOMEONE!!!

Journal.

I feel like I'm fnally making progress with my journal. When I first started, I found it all quite a daunting process, as I really struggle to write my thoughts and feelings down - I normally throw myself into dancing to release any frustration or to express happiness, so this was a real challenge for me.
However, now I'm a couple of weeks into it, I'm finding myself taking a notepad with me wherever I go, jotting down bits and pieces that particularly affect me immediately, while the emotions are still fresh, rather than relying on my memory at the end of the day.
Just reading previous bits of my journal now, a week or two on, I can already see a small journey in my style of writing, and also in my thought process behind the words. I started my new job today, so I'm sure that my journal will take a new direction with the many experiences to come.

Delicious

Having looked at other people's positive feedback of the bookmarking site 'Delicious', I decided to sign up myself. It seems to be a really valuable tool to use, especially since this profession means we don't often have a fixed location with access to he internet.
I'm still navigating my way around the site, but it seems pretty straightforward to use.
I think it will be an essential tool to utilise on this course, especially with organisation. Having each page readily bookmarked, instead of having to navigate your way through numerous pages until you find the one you wanted  will be fantastic, getting straight to the point, saving time.

I finally managed to sort out flickr - here's the link to my photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/54629493@N04/

I'm hoping to get some video and audio clips up too at some point.

Me at work...

Hi everyone...

Well, I thought it might be nice to put up some photos/videos/audio clips of me in action. However, being technologically challenged as I am, it's no mean feat!

I think I've managed to put up a small slideshow containing photos from my most recent UK Tour, using Photobucket, and the rest is a work in progress!

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated!

Let me know what you think :)

First impressions

I've finally got round to posting a blog!

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the induction day with everyone else, because of my foot, so I managed to get to Middlesex on Monday for a brief introduction with Alan Durrant.

I'm feeling really excited about this course. When I was studying for the diploma, I felt that a lot of the work we covered was not really relevant to me - a lot of it was based on Contemporary dance, whereas I am more focused on Musical Theatre. I can't wait to get started on projects relevant to me and my career.

I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on anything in particular that I missed at the group induction - I've had a look through everyone else's blogs, and I must say, it's comforting to see a few names from Hammond that I know - makes everything seem slightly less daunting!

Any comments or feedback woud be gratefully received!
Must press on with task one!

"There is in the worst of fortune the best of chances for a happy change." Euripides

Ok so I haven't exactly been blessed in the fortune department lately...I mean, what kind of a dancer can dance in heels on a daily basis without so much as a twinge, and yet can cause such an extensive amount of damage by slipping over in a pair of socks...

...But I see this as positive. For starters, I've saved a small fortune using my crutches, instead of getting a gym membership, I have been able to witness magical moments at the theatre from fabulous seats and, more importantly, I finally appreciate my talents as a dancer, and I am more determined than ever to get back on my feet .

As I wave goodbye to my job next week, and start at university the week after that, I can barely control my excitement - I can't wait to get my teeth into uni life!!!!
